Mary Ann Blosser
Mary Ann Blosser is the Branch County Art Guild's Artist of the Month for October 2004. She has been a member of the guild for four years and enjoys the friendships made and the shared interests and encouragement found in the guild.

Blosser is a registered nurse by profession and has worked as a data code operator at the Family Independence Agency. When she retires, she plans on devoting more time to art.

Mary Ann began painting in oils. Her favorite media are acrylics and watercolors. Blosser's favorite subjects are animals and flowers, and her style is realistic. "I like detail"Blosser states. Mary Ann paints natural scenes depicting rural life in Michigan and artwork of people in her life that are special to her.

Mary Ann studied art in high school and received an art award after graduation. She later studied at the Kendall School of Design where she majored in Interior Design. Blosser has attended art workshops by Joe Fettingus, Catheryn Smith, and Rob O'Dell. Mary's  favorite artist is Norman Rockwell for the humanity he so adeptly portrays in his paintings and illustrations of everyday life.

Her greatest supporter is her husband, Bob. "He doesn't say anything about my expenses, is my best critic and my best helper" Mary Ann states. Blosser enjoys gardening, flowers, and country living. She has graciously hosted group art painting in her home where members have shared ideas and friendship.

Blosser's artistic goals are to keep creating artworks and to feature her art in more Fine Art galleries and shows in the future Mary Ann states, " Doing art gets my  mind off everything else I'm concerned about and gets me involved with just creating for the moment"
